Arusha, Tanzania – June 21, 2024: The East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) will hold a Special Sitting in honor and memory of the late Hon. (Dr.) Shogo Richard Mlozi. Dr. Shogo, a dedicated parliamentarian and advocate for social justice, passed away suddenly on Thursday 13th June, 2024 in Mount Meru Hospital, leaving a profound impact on the East African Legislative Assembly and in the entire East African Community.

The Special sitting will provide an opportunity for fellow EALA Parliamentarians to honor Dr. Shogo. The following invited guests will attend this special sitting: The EALA Family and the EAC fraternity, representatives from the Ministry of EAC Affairs of the United Republic of Tanzania, representatives from the National Assembly of the United Republic of Tanzania, the family of the late Dr. Shogo, The Rector of the Open University of Tanzania , Representative of the ruling Party of URT, Chama Cha Mapinduzi, The representative from the Arusha Institute of Accountancy and staff, The Chief Executive Officer of the National College of Tourism of the United Republic of Tanzania, amongst other invited guests and dignitaries.
The Honorable Members of EALA will take this opportunity to pay their respects and celebrate Dr. Mlozi’s legacy during her period as EALA member of Parliament till her demise. During the session, heartfelt tributes and reflections on her remarkable life will be shared. Join us in honoring a stateswoman who dedicated her life to serving the people of East Africa.
