Parliament of Tanzania 4 - EALA 0

Parliament of Tanzania yesterday whitewashed EALA 4-0 in a one sided semi-final match played at the Sheikh Abeid Amri Stadium.  Tanzania now sets itself for an epic finale with Parliament of Uganda who beat Kenya National Assembly 2-0 in an earlier match.

Arumeru East MP, Hon Joshua Nassari opened the flood gates in the 9th minute from a spot-kick after striker Yona Kirumbi was felled in the penalty box. Midfield dynamo, Yusuf Gogo rattled EALA with a second goal after spadework from Hon Dr. Hamis Kingwagala and captain, Hon Adam Malima.

In the second half, EALA made some substitutions resting Joseph Mawallah to bring in Wyclif Ketto and tasking Hon Bernard Mulengani to play in goal.  Striker Hon Ahmed Juma Ngwali ran past the defence and notched the ball to Hon Nassari.  His weighty cross was received by Hon Ngwali who slammed the ball into the net past Hon Mulengani for goal number three.

EALA’s goalkeeper, Hon Bernard Mulengani mistimed the ball to let in the fourth goal following a defensive mix-up as Parliament of Tanzania supported by a capacity crowd celebrated.

In the other match of the day, Hon Bagoole Johnson and Hon Muhammad Nsereko scored in extra-time to give Uganda a 2-0 lead over Kenya National Assembly.

Both teams played solidly in the match producing fine moves.  Uganda’s captain, Hon Patrick Nsanja could have given his team the lead in the first half but he blasted the ball wide.

Today, in netball, the much awaited match between Parliament of Tanzania and the Parliament of Uganda is expected.
